Born in Paris to Vietnamese parents, Hom Nguyen has gained international recognition in less than a decade. His portraits of women, children, and elderly individuals with Asian features captivate with their technical mastery and move viewers with the depth of their expressions.  

Yet his life hasn't always reflected this sense of peace. At the age of six, his mother was paralyzed in a car accident, leaving the young boy to fend for himself in extreme poverty. Drawing became his refuge—he sketched constantly, with an obvious gift. But how could he imagine making a living from it when he sometimes went hungry?
